Who does not know Paris, France. The city is known as one of the world's fashion mecca. Who would have thought, there are restrictions that apply uniquely since 200 years ago in Paris, that women should not wear pants.

Bizarre ban was first introduced in late 1799 by the Paris police chief. From there, the government of Paris set every woman who wants to 'dress like a man' must request special permission from the police who will check the health condition of their feet.

A woman senator, Maryvonne Blondin, who first discovered the new rules before asking for the ban was lifted. "I found out about this rule last year and I was amazed," he said as quoted by the Telegraph.
Last month, he filed a revocation of that rule in the Senate in Paris. The ban was enacted in Paris shortly after the French Revolution. In 1892, the rules are loosened with the amendment reads' pants are allowed as long as she holds the reins of the horse.
Then, in 1909, it is more simplified rules with an additional clause that allows women to wear pants while riding a bicycle.
In 1969, amid a global movement towards gender equality, the Paris city council asked the police to turn in a decree. The answer is: "It is unwise to change the text that predicted nor unexpected in a fashion that can be returned to the surface."
This rule is contrary to the laws that have made men and women equal in the eyes of the French constitution since 1946. Given that the trousers mandatory for the Paris police, in theory they are all illegal. Last year, the Council of Paris trying to make the text removed, but the police headquarters in the capital of France said the rule is an 'archaeological law' and not a priority.
