Rename Nakusa Indian girl

To restore the dignity and the fight against gender discrimination,hundreds of Indian girl who has a name that means "not desirable" change their names.

By wearing the best clothes and hairdo neat,more than 200 girls lined up to receive a certificate of name change,following a series of official interest in the Satara district of Maharashtra state.

Among the girls named "Nakusa" or "Nakusi" - that is not desirable - it is there that changed his name to "Aishwarya",following the famous Pop artist's name.There is also a Hindu goddess who took the name "Savitri."

Several other girls were quite happy with India's traditional name,like "Vaishali" which means makmuk,beautiful and good.

"Now in school,classmates and friends would call me with this new name,and this makes me happy,"said a girl named new Ashmita 15 years,which means "very tanguh". By his grandfather who was disappointed with his birth,he was named Nakusa.

According to Dr.Bhagwan Pawar,health officials in the district of Satara, who suggested the name change ceremony, "Nakusa is a very bad name,first there is the issue of discrimination on women."

One of the factors that cause girls are less preferred because of their culture and religion.

Based on the culture and their religion was Hindu,the dowry paid by her substitute family. If a family is to marry his son,they not only got a daughter who could be helped at home,but also the dowry and wedding gifts that are not few in number.

Moreover,only boys are allowed to organize the funeral of their parents.

Hence the birth of a daughter in Indian society is not too be expected,then a lot of androgynous female fetuses are aborted by their parents. As a result,the population fewer women than men.

According to the Associated Press (22/10/2011),the national ratio of girls and boys in India down compared to a decade ago. There used to be 927 girls for every 1,000 boys under the age of 6 years.Now for every thousand boys are 914 girls.
